Microsoft Edge closes immediately upon opening. I've tried many fixes none work.

Yesterday, I wanted to clean up my favorites in Edge (remove duplicates, remove obsolete links). In the midst of this, Edge closed without warning or error message. When I restarted Edge, it closed immediately. I could not select the three dots in the top right. It closed too quickly.

I found several possible solutions including tools in the Settings/Apps menu, other fixes involving removing and then reinstituting the %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe directory

None of these fixes worked.

When I restart Edge, it closes immediately.

How can I get it to work properly?

Same issue began this morning after I performed a Windows 11 update.

Update last night on 11/6/2023; today, Edge Opens and immediately shuts down. Repair does not help! None of the prescribed solitions work...

    1. C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Sync Data\LevelDB
    2. nothing running in task manager
    3. Repair - Reinstall

    Anywhere else to look?

This worked for me just now. Thank you. I thought I'd fixed it once, but started again today. I'll keep a note for this solution going forward.

FYI, I had to go into Task Manager and end the Microsoft Edge processes before I could delete the files in the folder you listed.

We have several users where Edge (v116.0.1938.69) starts and immediately crashes. The only thing that helps is deleting all the files in the following folder:

    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Sync Data\LevelDB

After deleting the files in this folder Edge starts without a problem.

No. This didn't help. I've tried many possible fixes (SFC /scannow), disk clean.up, etc.) nothing worked.

    I'll have to use Chrome...
