Hi All,
I know ... this is old and usually easy ... turn off "Startup Boost" and "Continue running background apps ..."
I have those off and it always worked they way it supposed to.
All of a sudden Edge keeps running.
Indication for still running comes from Ccleaner, which removes all trackers. All of a sudden I get the message:
(paraphrased) Ccleaner can't clean because Edge is still running ... needs to be forced shut down"
In Task manager I also still see 11 Edge processes going even though Edge is shut off.
Again ... "Startup Boost" and "Background Apps ..." are unchecked in settings.
Any suggestions?
I repaired Edge already and nothing changed. Its updated.
PS: I checked in another machine (Win10), same Edge version ... no problems here ... all Edge processes in Task Manager disappear
when shutting Edge down.
Thanks

Sadly, the issue is not fixed for me using version 122.0.2365.52 (Official build). So, I need to continue using the Windows End Task feature for developers to close Edge.
Try this =
I thought the problem would be fixed in version 122 but it not. I just updated Edge to 122 and the bug is there.
Edit: actually the bug is fixed now, Edge is closing properly.
The problem seems to be fixed on Edge Beta 122. Edge closes normally and there is no processes in task manager.
Agreed.
I downloaded the latest beta here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/download/insider?form=MA13FJ
This beta version of Edge works very well and ends all the Microsoft Edge processes upon closing.

Thanks for your insights, Rodro.
Yes, InPrivate might not be favourable for the ones who want popups and ads, weather, etc.
However, I don't see any background apps after closing Edge when InPrivate.
All in all, except for the ones who experience actual CPU slowdown / fan speed issues, it doesn't really
matter. But it should be fixed, in principle.
Just keep telling them in Edge Feedback.
Cheers
