The (--disable-features=msFavoritesMonolineFolder) modification to the MS Edge shortcut works well for me whenever I open Edge from the shortcut.
BUT – if Edge is closed and I open a link from an email or even a link from the Windows 11 "weather/widget panel", then that instance of Edge reverts to displaying the transparent folders.
So at least part of the time I can have my yellow folders displayed, but certainly not all the time.
Unless I'm missing something a more permanent solution is needed.
Edge Shortcut creation did not work
yes, same here on Windows 10. I modified the shortcut as suggested, but it did not work.
unfortunately, that did not work for me on Windows 10
I verified this workaround DOES work on Windows 10 Pro, I don't have the Home edition but that should not matter as long as Edge is version 131.0.2903.112 or 131.0.2903.146
My main PC recently updated Edge from 131.0.2903.112 to 31.0.2903.146 and the folders are still yellow.
Handy app to find all instances of Edge and the associated shortcuts:
Everything
These are the setting of the Edge icon on the task bar and on the Windows 10 Start Menu tile.
