Thank you! this suggestion worked to fix things for me.
I have the same exact version 131.0.2903.112 (Official build) (64-bit) and my folders are still hollow rectangles. This entire thread is a waste of time!
Not a waste of time at all. After following the instructions about the addition to shortcut target, deactivating the two Edge settings and rebooting (in other words, doing exactly what the thread said), my folders reverted to the desired color. I guess threads waste time if the advice is not followed.
Unfortunately, I changed to a different browser because the folder was challenging to see without color.
A solution has been provided in previous comments if you look back. It involves adding some parameters to the "target" field in the Edge shortcut you use. Works fine so far.
Hi Wayne,
I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help you.
Sadly, the icons are taken from the website, so you can't customize them. If you open a favourite once, does it not change the color?
A screenshot would be super cool.
I look forward to hearing from you, and ready to work with you until we reach a solution.
SUMIT,
He's not talking about the FAVICONS!!!! Its the MS EDGE 'favourites' FOLDERS that are now 'transparent' and hard to see. They were yellow before the last EDGE update in Dec 2024!!
MS needs to fix this!
