    I just added the --disable-features=msFavoritesMonolineFolder and the folder are back to normal. Thank you for your help with this.

    Leave it to Microsoft to cause such calamity!

    I get so tired of all these tech companies inserting new settings in the apps and operating systems without notice, and usually with default settings that create undesirable behavior. I spend more time trying to debug their **** than trying to get my work done. I often forget what I was actually trying to do because of stupid stuff like this. They can screw up the simplest of things making our lives WORSE, not BETTER. And AI is just getting stared tormenting us.

    I didn't know about extensions running in the background even though the session is closed. Maybe this is why Edge slowly sucks up ALL my RAM bringing my laptop to a halt. It did inspire me to buy a NEW laptop hoping for better performance. From a Capitalism standpoint, I guess "mission accomplished."

    I think I got this figured out now.

    Here are the steps that are working consistently for me now on all 3 of my PCs and Laptop at home.

    If you have more than one shortcut on your desktop or in the file system, delete them all except for one.

    Change the shortcut for Edge's target to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --disable-features=msFavoritesMonolineFolder

    ALSO: from Edge, turn off "Startup boost" and "Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed"

    Close Edge, reboot PC, launch Edge and the folders should be back you Yellow again.

    @zBernie,

    Yeah, my comments were in response to Connor_Hugill's post with the " --disable-features=msFavoritesMonolineFolder" added to the shortcut. I also had to disable "Startup Boost" to make this work consistently. Both have to be done.

    This thread is hardly "an entire waste of time" because it provided a workaround with several users providing input...

    @zBernie,

    Can you confirm that you added " --disable-features=msFavoritesMonolineFolder" (without the quotes) to the Target field of the Edge shortcut.
