Noticed the same thing a few days ago and thought I was having a Senior Moment.

I'm glad to know it's real but discouraged to see that it's just going to be another unsolved Microsoft Mystery.

    Hi Wayne,
I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help you.

Sadly, the icons are taken from the website, so you can't customize them. If you open a favourite once, does it not change the color?

A screenshot would be super cool.

I look forward to hearing from you, and ready to work with you until we reach a solution.

    SUMIT,

He's not talking about the FAVICONS!!!! Its the MS EDGE 'favourites' FOLDERS that are now 'transparent' and hard to see. They were yellow before the last EDGE update in Dec 2024!!

    MS needs to fix this!

I get so tired of all these tech companies inserting new settings in the apps and operating systems without notice, and usually with default settings that create undesirable behavior. I spend more time trying to debug their **** than trying to get my work done. I often forget what I was actually trying to do because of stupid stuff like this. They can screw up the simplest of things making our lives WORSE, not BETTER. And AI is just getting stared tormenting us.

I didn't know about extensions running in the background even though the session is closed. Maybe this is why Edge slowly sucks up ALL my RAM bringing my laptop to a halt. It did inspire me to buy a NEW laptop hoping for better performance. From a Capitalism standpoint, I guess "mission accomplished."
