Why does Copilot keep telling me to sign in?

Why does Copilot keep telling me "it looks like I've been signed out? I'm signed in to my personal Microsoft account, using a fully updated Windows 10 Pro desktop, using updated Edge or Chrome browsers. I have a Copilot Pro subscription and yet I am unable to ask it a question without it telling me it looks like I've been signed out--very frustrating. I will cancel my subscription if I can't use the product. I've also cleared the browser caches.

For me, I found the fix: I had a VPN turned on, and I forgot that. So I turned the VPN off and suddenly everything worked again. Sharing in the small chance this works for you too

Thanks for posting this. Copilot was doing the same to me with my VPN on. I turned off VPN and Copilot works again.

<removed CoC> I USE A VPN TO PROTECT ME ONLINE AND FORCING PEOPLE TO TURN OFF THEIR VPN TO USE YOUR SERVICE IS JUST INSANE!!!!!

    It is the VPN thing. Now, VPN shouldn't be turned off. With just adding COPILOT and EDGE to the exception list will work if we restart the VPN after whitelisting COPILOT and EDGE. That will work Kim, is better than giving this feedback. They never read this nor fix issues. Good luck

    Copilot keeps telling me to sign in, despite the fact I NEVER SIGNED OUT in the first place and I did sign in again. This is the poor advice. None of it works. I shouldn't have to be doing any of this. Microsoft doesn't respect anyone's time. I don't mean to sound rude, but none of your advice helped. That so called link to chat doesn't work. It leads me to some equally useless page where it only gives me the option to read dozens and dozens of equally useless articles. I consider you to have have wasted lots of my time, that I don't have to fool around. I don't have the time to be sitting around and reading all these USELESS, RIDICULOUS articles from microsoft. I have a real job. I have to work. I can't fool around and give out useless advice like Microsoft's employees. If I wanted to read articles, I go to Google Chrome. Which is SUPERIOR to any microsoft product. NONE OF YOUR PRODUCTS WORK. I copy and paste and try to search something and it gives me ZERO RESULTS. I do the same thing on chrome, I get 1 million or more results. Zero vs 1 million? Microsoft is a joke.
