Why does Copilot keep telling me to sign in?

Why does Copilot keep telling me "it looks like I've been signed out? I'm signed in to my personal Microsoft account, using a fully updated Windows 10 Pro desktop, using updated Edge or Chrome browsers. I have a Copilot Pro subscription and yet I am unable to ask it a question without it telling me it looks like I've been signed out--very frustrating. I will cancel my subscription if I can't use the product. I've also cleared the browser caches.

For me, I found the fix: I had a VPN turned on, and I forgot that. So I turned the VPN off and suddenly everything worked again. Sharing in the small chance this works for you too

Thanks for posting this. Copilot was doing the same to me with my VPN on. I turned off VPN and Copilot works again.

<removed CoC> I USE A VPN TO PROTECT ME ONLINE AND FORCING PEOPLE TO TURN OFF THEIR VPN TO USE YOUR SERVICE IS JUST INSANE!!!!!

Thank you for reminding me of this. Once I turned off my VPN it worked. Microsoft needs to sort this out. It's unacceptable not being able to use a VPN, particularly a U.S. based provider with a U.S. IP address.

    Hello timmy843

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It seems that you have encountered a problem with copilot constantly letting you log in. Here are suggestions for solutions:

    1. Reset Edge You can reset your Edge browser. Before that, please back up your data (you can save bookmarks and other information locally, or log in to your Microsoft account to sync all information to your account). Copy "edge://settings/resetProfileSettings" into the Edge browser address bar, then read the prompts carefully, and then confirm whether to reset the Edge browser. Disclaimer*: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix page display problems.* Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.
    2. If resetting the browser doesn't work, it means there is an account issue and you need to contact Chat. They will help you troubleshoot the account issue: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us Fill in a simple problem description in the input box, click Get Help, Sign in to Contact Support (if you are not logged in MSA) or Contact Support (if you are logged in MSA), select the question to ask, click Confirm, click Chat with a support agent in your web browser, confirm your account again to connect to online support.

If there is anything not clear or I can't understand your problem, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards
