Web Select Option Gone After Recent Edge Update

MS Edge Version: 114.0.1823.37

For some reason, I no longer have the Web Select option in the right-click context menu. I still have Web Capture, but Web Select is no longer there. Did MS remove this feature, or is it a bug?

Hi, I used to copy text from webpages using the Edge feature as well. I have been using Text Extractor for selecting text on webpages since yesterday. The Text Extractor is part of PowerToys. There is a guide how to install the PowerToys here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/install. After I had installed the PowerToys, I selected the Text Extractor module. I checked the Activation shortcut and enabled the module. Now when I press the shortcut, I can select an area where the text is. After that the text is saved in the clipboard.

RIP Web Select. I fail to understand how removing it improves user experience. That was literally one of the edges of Edge.

OK, I have managed to get "Web Select" working again, by rolling back to a previous version of Microsoft Edge. I have rolled back to version 114 and tested that "Web select" is back, as an option of Web capture. When doing this you need to ensure that the Services that update Edge are disabled so it doesn't immediately update again (it will turn them back on as soon as you install 114 as well). Please proceed at own risk here, using older versions of software will no doubt reduce security etc. So maybe use Chrome / Firefox / Opera as primary browser and use Edge 114 just for "Web select" purposes. I'm not providing support and/or guidance in helping anyone here as I consider this an advanced activity.

I appreciate the PowerShell scripts, but I've even done a full reboot... still no Web Select.
