I have Windows 10 Pro running my computer and would like to completely get rid of Edge. I don't use it and don't plan on ever using it so it's basically just a nuisance to me. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, it isn't possible to get rid of Edge completely. However, you can install some other web browser and set it as the system default.

the answer is to a question that i did not ask. My question was how to keep Edge from running in the background.
It was answered by opening edge going to the 3 dots, and then settings - then system performance - Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed toggle to off. Problem solved.
I understand that I cannot REMOVE EDGE. I want to disable it as it runs in the background anytime my computer is on. It is a resource HOG.
Anytime I want to run my Glarysoft software, it asks if I want to close EDGE. Every Time.
Search for MSEdgeRedirect. It'll fix it so all links open in your default browser, as well as letting you change your search engine, and other settings from the Microsoft defaults.
