Edge downloads not completing after update

Edge suddenly stopped completing downloading PDFs after update yesterday. Cant uninstall. All files remain as "Unconfirmed XXXXX.crdownload". Tried all usual fixes, AV, clear history, turn off all extensions, repair/reinstall, different folder, etc. Chrome and all other browsers save just fine! Saving as webpages works fine too, just save as PDF does not.

    I have a user with the same issue. But,.....it is also happening in Chrome, and also only with certain websites. Laptop manufacturers site is fine (Lenovo), but HMRC site is not.

    The user is a finance worker and predominantly uses the HMRC site.

    I have a workaround if printing to PDF, but even had to fudge that by clicking the, Print using system dialogue (Ctrl+Shift+P) link.

    Same issue. Using "Save to PDF" results in an incomplete download. Changing the printer to "Microsoft Print to PDF" results in a saved PDF document. However the file size increase 8x (Save to PDF = 70KB, Microsoft Print to PDF = 560KB).

    Toggling the "Ask me what to do with each download" to "Off" doesn't help.

    The size increases dramaticaly because the generated PDF is actually an image of the page as evidenced by the fact that the text is non-selectable in the PDF unless your PDF application can perform OCR on it.

    There is also very high CPU usage during the download. Download does not complete.

    having the same issue started this week , save to pdf just hangs on donwload but print to pdf saves kust fine .

    I have over 20 people facing the same issue , hope this gets fixed soon.
