Managing bookmarks, browsing history, and downloads in Edge on Windows 11
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Edge suddenly stopped completing downloading PDFs after update yesterday. Cant uninstall. All files remain as "Unconfirmed XXXXX.crdownload". Tried all usual fixes, AV, clear history, turn off all extensions, repair/reinstall, different folder, etc. Chrome and all other browsers save just fine! Saving as webpages works fine too, just save as PDF does not.

In my case, I've found out this issue was caused by OneDrive.
Try solution n.º 2 suggested by the Moderator (Change Download Location).
If this works for you, that means the original download folder might be under OneDrive sync.
For example, if your previous default download folder was Desktop, open File Explorer, right-click over Desktop, choose Properties and check its location: is it C:\users\your_username\Desktop or C:\users\your_username\OneDrive\Desktop?
If OneDrive is in the path, you'll need to unlink and re-link your computer without the Desktop sync.
Once that is done, no more crdownload files will appear.
I hope this helps someone.

Is this ever going to get fixed? Update?
I went to another browser after your fateful December update and was checking on status. Is it ever going to get repaired?
I am also having the same issue with not being able to download files from a database that I access for my work. This just started happening a couple days ago, I think after a new update.
After it looks like the document downloaded, when I try to open it in Adobe I get an error message. If I try opening it in Word, there's only 1 page when I know there should be hundreds of pages. The system I download from does not allow us to "print" a document unless we open it in pdf, word, or excel first. I've tried most of the remedies most people have posted but nothing is working. BTW this is also happening if I try using Chrome. I called Adobe this morning thinking it was an Adobe issue and the tech tried several things and determined it's not an Adobe issue. It's an actual downloading issue. This is impacting my ability to get my work done and I need to get this resolved.
Thanks.
Having the same issue as well. Started a week or so ago, as others have reported likely after the update. I need to save to PDF so line items can still be selectable through the PDF. Print to PDF doesn't do that. Microsoft, please fix this.
Thanks for the reply. I have tried all of these to no avail, including the command line scans.
HOWEVER, I have found that this problem only occurs when on the browser you select print>save as pdf. When doing this, it shows up in the download queue and the issue occurs. If you select print>microsoft print to pdf, it skips the queue and saves just fine.
Any ideas? Also, why to options?
Yes, the Microsoft Print to PDF works, but it renders the whole page as a bitmap, with no OCR. I had the same issue until I installed Java (I opted for the Amazon Corretto 21 version); now Save As PDF works fine, and fast.
