Edge downloads not completing after update

Edge suddenly stopped completing downloading PDFs after update yesterday. Cant uninstall. All files remain as "Unconfirmed XXXXX.crdownload". Tried all usual fixes, AV, clear history, turn off all extensions, repair/reinstall, different folder, etc. Chrome and all other browsers save just fine! Saving as webpages works fine too, just save as PDF does not.

    We are experiencing the same issue in our organization with all user. We use Save to PDF because its easier to copy data from columns individually to our Excel report. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon or we will just move to Chrome

    Having some users with the same issue as OP.

    1. Does not remedy issue

    3. Considered this one but its only occurring in Edge browser, Chrome & Firefox are unaffected

    10. This shouldn't have to be a solution or work around.

    Print to PDF does work but ideally need the functionality of Save to PDF so we can get the original document. Monitoring post to see if anyone comes up with a solution.

    There is also very high CPU usage during the download. Download does not complete.

    Same issue. Using "Save to PDF" results in an incomplete download. Changing the printer to "Microsoft Print to PDF" results in a saved PDF document. However the file size increase 8x (Save to PDF = 70KB, Microsoft Print to PDF = 560KB).

    Toggling the "Ask me what to do with each download" to "Off" doesn't help.

    Based on my tests, the problem seems to be related to a certain setting in the Edge browser, so please follow the steps below to see if you can fix it:

    1. Go to settings on Microsoft Edge Browser
    2. Go to the Downloads section (URL: edge://settings/downloads)
    3. If “Ask me what to do with each download” is toggled on, turn it off
    4. See if downloads are showing up correctly now
