Edge downloads not completing after update

Edge suddenly stopped completing downloading PDFs after update yesterday. Cant uninstall. All files remain as "Unconfirmed XXXXX.crdownload". Tried all usual fixes, AV, clear history, turn off all extensions, repair/reinstall, different folder, etc. Chrome and all other browsers save just fine! Saving as webpages works fine too, just save as PDF does not.

    Thanks for the reply. I have tried all of these to no avail, including the command line scans.

    HOWEVER, I have found that this problem only occurs when on the browser you select print>save as pdf. When doing this, it shows up in the download queue and the issue occurs. If you select print>microsoft print to pdf, it skips the queue and saves just fine.

    Any ideas? Also, why to options?

    Yes, the Microsoft Print to PDF works, but it renders the whole page as a bitmap, with no OCR. I had the same issue until I installed Java (I opted for the Amazon Corretto 21 version); now Save As PDF works fine, and fast.

    Awesome! Thanks for the detailed solution. I had assumed System Update would update Edge; didn't think about updating via Edge itself. Much obliged.

    Print to PDF is not an equal workaround! Print to PDF creates a pdf file that lacks searchable text. So does CutePDF.

    Save as PDF, when it worked, created a pdf file that had searchable text.

    Please restore the Save as PDF functionality right away.
