Edge will not close - any help please?

Ok - This morning I opened Edge (w10) and when I clicked the X to close, it would not close. I tried to minimise and click close, still would not work. I can only close it via task manager or rebooting. Nothing has chnaged since last night, so no idea why it has happened. Is there a simple answer as in apps both uninstall and modify are grayed out.

The PC is mine, not a work one and is W10.

PS - Just tried with my w10 laptop, am able to close edge as normal. So have no idea why the desktop is playing up. Is there a solution?

    For people who continue to have this issue even after disabling the "graphics acceleration" and "startup boost" options, try signing out of your user profile in Edge. This has resolved the issue on a few machines. It would seem one of the recent updates causes problems with profile syncing.

    Yes - this worked for me

      "After turning off "Use graphics acceleration" and restarting edge - I could finally close Edge once more."

    I've had the same problem for the last couple of days. Various methods given online, but most don't work for me.

    Two do work:

    1. Open Task Manager. Select Microsoft Edge. End Task.
    2. (The easy one). Click on three dots top right. Go to bottom of drop down menu. Click "Close Microsoft Edge".
