Edge will not close - any help please?

Ok - This morning I opened Edge (w10) and when I clicked the X to close, it would not close. I tried to minimise and click close, still would not work. I can only close it via task manager or rebooting. Nothing has chnaged since last night, so no idea why it has happened. Is there a simple answer as in apps both uninstall and modify are grayed out.

The PC is mine, not a work one and is W10.

PS - Just tried with my w10 laptop, am able to close edge as normal. So have no idea why the desktop is playing up. Is there a solution?

    I tried that, but left the "use graphics acceleration..." turned on. I restarted my PC, then opened Edge (and resored the tabs when prompted), but it still wouldn't close, so I just now turned that one off as well, restarted Edge and it closes properly now. So at least in my case, I think it was the "graphics acceration" setting (but I don't have time to turn the others back on to test that out).

    Hi Larry,

    Thank you for posting these settings, this worked! I've been having the same issue as everyone else and its driving me nuts. Only Ctrl + alt + Del was the only way to get rid of it.

    Hello, I had the same issue with Edge so I went into settings>apps>apps and features and scrolled down to Microsoft Edge and clicked. Box opened and then I clicked repair, which uninstalled and reinstalled Edge. I then opened it and clicked the red X at the top to close it and it is now working perfectly!
