Edge will not close - any help please?

Ok - This morning I opened Edge (w10) and when I clicked the X to close, it would not close. I tried to minimise and click close, still would not work. I can only close it via task manager or rebooting. Nothing has chnaged since last night, so no idea why it has happened. Is there a simple answer as in apps both uninstall and modify are grayed out.

The PC is mine, not a work one and is W10.

PS - Just tried with my w10 laptop, am able to close edge as normal. So have no idea why the desktop is playing up. Is there a solution?

    Have the same problem. I am not going to jump through hoops to fix a microsoft problem. Edge will never be my primary browser so when I have to use it I will just kill it in Task Manager when done. Will just wait until they fix it in an update. Of course that could be a long wait.

    Decided to turn off graphics acceleration and that did the trick.

    I am seeing something similar. At the same time, my outlook is now broken. It will not keep its connection to my IMAP server. Both of these problems happened at the same time, right after the last windows 10 update.

    Go to Settings | Apps | Installed Apps | search for Microsoft Edge | select Modify | Repair worked for me.
