Edge will not close - any help please?

Ok - This morning I opened Edge (w10) and when I clicked the X to close, it would not close. I tried to minimise and click close, still would not work. I can only close it via task manager or rebooting. Nothing has chnaged since last night, so no idea why it has happened. Is there a simple answer as in apps both uninstall and modify are grayed out.

The PC is mine, not a work one and is W10.

PS - Just tried with my w10 laptop, am able to close edge as normal. So have no idea why the desktop is playing up. Is there a solution?

    it's clearly Microsoft's way of forcing users to use Edge - don't allow it to be closed!!

    Same issue. I went to delete the app, and it came up with a repair option. After the repair, I am able to close the app when I want.

    For me I only had to disable the Startup Boost and now it closes normally.

    I turning off all the settings was an instant fix, however weirdly turning the settings back on did not bring back the issue. Thank you Larry Rich1 for fix

    How did this get past Microsoft's QA? Seems like a pretty big bug ...
