Edge will not close - any help please?

Ok - This morning I opened Edge (w10) and when I clicked the X to close, it would not close. I tried to minimise and click close, still would not work. I can only close it via task manager or rebooting. Nothing has chnaged since last night, so no idea why it has happened. Is there a simple answer as in apps both uninstall and modify are grayed out.

The PC is mine, not a work one and is W10.

Keith

PS - Just tried with my w10 laptop, am able to close edge as normal. So have no idea why the desktop is playing up. Is there a solution?

I did all that & it didn't work. I could close Edge down with Task Manager, & also by clicking on the three dots in the top right of the browser window & selecting "Close Edge" from the drop-down menu. It's the last option.

I tried all of the suggested fixes (settings and repair) and none have worked for me. I have used Edge for years (I started during a time when Chrome was being sketchy), but it's lost its privileges and Chrome is now the browser of choice.

I've just been on MS live support for this issue.

Try logging out of your Edge Profile, then log back in again.

    Worked for me

Edge isn't my primary browser, so all those settings have always been off by default. I've also tried going into windows settings and doing the modify/repair method which also doesn't work. I'm now in the boat that this is a windows update related issue.
