Edge will not close - any help please?

Ok - This morning I opened Edge (w10) and when I clicked the X to close, it would not close. I tried to minimise and click close, still would not work. I can only close it via task manager or rebooting. Nothing has chnaged since last night, so no idea why it has happened. Is there a simple answer as in apps both uninstall and modify are grayed out.

The PC is mine, not a work one and is W10.

Keith

PS - Just tried with my w10 laptop, am able to close edge as normal. So have no idea why the desktop is playing up. Is there a solution?

Just infuriating. I am a software engineer. I have this problem now since 05/16. AND THIS thread says "have same question (218)" in other words 200+ people reporting this in just 2 days? And that's just the people who know how to get online and report it. So in reality it's more like 200 x 1000 occurring among computer user by now. It is NOT an end user issue. No-one should have to waste hours of time trying "this" or trying "that". The root of the problem is a @#$% software company failing to TEST their software. It's money-first with micro$$$oft and not reliability first. And everyone just goes-along. Where is the OUTRAGE?

    For others,

I made the changes Larry suggested, but Edge would not close. I reselected the items I had turned off, and Edge now closes.

I ran the commands, and nothing happened. The only way I can close the window is to go to the task manager. This started after I installed the required updates from Microsoft. I believe the updates are the issue.
