Ok - This morning I opened Edge (w10) and when I clicked the X to close, it would not close. I tried to minimise and click close, still would not work. I can only close it via task manager or rebooting. Nothing has chnaged since last night, so no idea why it has happened. Is there a simple answer as in apps both uninstall and modify are grayed out.
The PC is mine, not a work one and is W10.

PS - Just tried with my w10 laptop, am able to close edge as normal. So have no idea why the desktop is playing up. Is there a solution?

Having the same issue, I have tried all the tips to resolve this and nothing works, the only way to close it is through task manager.
Not good M Edge devs you need to resolve this issue ASAP, things like this push people away from Edge browser to Chrome and others.

I've been having this same issue. Turning off graphics acceleration helped fix the problem. Appreciate this!!

turning off "use graphics acceleration when available" is what fixed it for me
