Edge will not close - any help please?

Ok - This morning I opened Edge (w10) and when I clicked the X to close, it would not close. I tried to minimise and click close, still would not work. I can only close it via task manager or rebooting. Nothing has chnaged since last night, so no idea why it has happened. Is there a simple answer as in apps both uninstall and modify are grayed out.

The PC is mine, not a work one and is W10.

Keith

PS - Just tried with my w10 laptop, am able to close edge as normal. So have no idea why the desktop is playing up. Is there a solution?

whilst the so called fix also worked for me - you have defo hit the nail on the head. We shouldn t be messing about in settings in order for Edge to behave itself.

Edge isn't my primary browser, so all those settings have always been off by default. I've also tried going into windows settings and doing the modify/repair method which also doesn't work. I'm now in the boat that this is a windows update related issue.
