Managing tabs, address bar, and search settings in Edge on Windows 11
This doesn't work.
How can I stop Edge from opening new tabs in a new window?

I just upgraded to Windows 11. I guess that also gave me a new version of Edge. And like most new releases in M$FT, it doesn't work like it used to in even the simplest ways. On my Windows 10 laptop, if I Ctrl-Click on a link in Edge, it opens up a new tab in the same Window. On my Windows 11 laptop, that same action opens up what appears to be a new page, but is really a new tab on a separate page, or something like that. If I close that page, the first page is also closed.
Anyway, what do I need to do to make it work like it used to? Or should I just give up completely and just use Firefox and Chrome?
I checked several websites that suggested solutions, but I could not find the controls they said to use.

When you go to Bing, press the three lines at the top right,
go to settings,
go to the results section there and uncheck both. -

2024-03-26T11:13:30+00:00 In Microsoft Edge, navigate to edge://flags/ and search for 'Browser tab experiences in Windows'. Then, select "Disabled" from the dropdown menu on the right side.
