Status Access Violation issues

I seem to have fixed this issue on my PC by enabling undervolt protection in the bios...

My symptoms were random but very frequent status_access_violation errors in chromium based software - edge, orca slicer and a bunch of other stuff.

This PCs specs are:

Mobo: Asus Rog maximus z790 hero

CPU: i9-14900k

RAM: 2x Corsair 48GB DDR5 6800

GPU: Asus Rog strix rtx 4090

EDIT: Custom loop water-cooled

This has been driving me mad on and off for months and now seems stable *fingers crossed. I've tried all the "fixes" suggested online many times over and in multiple combinations

I've been running some local jpeg renders from Google earth studio in ms edge for hours now and this is a task that would ALWAYS produce a status access violation error after a minute or two on this PC.

TL:DR

I reset bios to optimised defaults, set xmp1, enabled undervolt protection, saved and reset.

I don't know why this works but it does for me 🤞 (for now)...

EDIT: after a week+ of stability - performance began to degrade and the same old issues started to creep back in.

RMA'd the chip to Intel (who initially suggested some more BIOS changes which stopped my win11 blue screens but not the status_access_violation and BREAKPOINT errors, among others) new 14900K arrived from Intel (looked brand new not refurbed as box seals were intact) all my issues have disappeared.

I had changed the RAM then the NVMe's, wasted MANY hours of my time over a couple of weeks of troubleshooting.

Approx. 12 hours of testing so far (cinebench and all the softwares that were crashing) with BIOS optimised defaults and no problems so far.

I will now be setting the BIOS to Intel spec not ASUS optimised as long term stability is important to me.

I have also noticed that my idle temp has dropped from 40c to 30-31c, who knows what that means - maybe I've just got a better mount on my water block but thermal paste coverage looked good when I took it off for RMA and it was torqued correctly- another symptom that might help someone identify a struggling chip.

TL; DR: The CPU and motherboard is causing the issue. Try resetting the TPM Key for your CPU settings in your BIOS first, else update your motherboard to the latest BIOS firmware.

If both fail, the CPU is faulty will need to be replaced.

I'm back in this thread and so far, I think I found my issue: It was my CPU and motherboard that were giving these random codes this whole time. I used a Ryzen 5 5600X for about a year before going from Windows 10 to 11. Since then, I ran into this Status Access Violation with all possible solutions - clearing cache, using different ram sticks, disabling browser extensions, registry - nothing has worked for months.

Until 2 weeks ago, I upgraded from 5600X to 5800X3D because I wanted more performance and consistency out of my PC for Sim Racing in Virtual Reality without needing to buy a new graphics card. When I installed the new CPU, the boot screen posted a message saying something about the new TPM Key needing to be registered because of a completely new CPU installed. After flashing my BIOS firmware and recreating my usual profile, I have not run into any issues with "Status Access Violation" for the past two weeks and the headache and fear that YouTube would crash on me is gone now.

No idea why Windows 11 became so sensitive about all this and why Microsoft hasn't done anything about it, but there we have it. If you're still running into this problem, The TPM Key for your CPU might just be the culprit.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

Motherboard: Asus ROG CROSSHAIR VIII Hero

Memory: 32GB (16 x 2) 3200MHz

GPU: Asus TUF RTX 3070 TI

Edit: Apparently, resetting TPM can be done inside Windows already - Trusted Platform Module: How do I reset it? - Microsoft Community, but just in case, try resetting from the BIOS.

I've tried every possible solution i could find and i still find this error and i can't even play video games a error always pops up saying it had error receiving data and the browsers keep refreshing and sometimes flickering while having this error my gaming laptop is asus fx504 series and i tried to clean dust but still the issue persists also my laptop screen crashed so i removed the whole screen and i plugged it with hdmi on monitor. My wifi signal is trash on my laptop but i use my phone for sharing wifi. Please help me i want to play video games on it.

Microsoft really needs to fix this. I've tried everything short of replacing hardware. I have multiple laptops and desktops with this issue. I'm not wasting money because of Microsoft being incompetent. I'll just move to an Apple product, even though I can't stand Apple.

However, I'm also in charge of IT at my work and I don't really have a choice, but to use Windows, so this needs to be resolved NOW.

FYI that this is not just a Windows 11 issue. I am running Windows 10 Pro.

It's possible that it's worse or more prevalent in Windows 11.
