Opening and reading PDF files in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11

I have a problem with printing from the latest version of Microsoft Edge. When I select some text on the browser and choose Print → 'Save As Pdf', the download starts but never finishes. How can I fix this? Is this a common issue for all the users of the latest version of Edge?
I have tried restating the PC, Resetting the browser, stopping all the extension etc. to fix it. but it doesn't work? Should I switch to Chrome?

Hey Tony,
Yeah I got the same result (CRDOWNLOAD) file type when I tried the "Save as PDF" option, but, when I used the "Microsoft Print to PDF" did in fact save a the regular PDF file.
Tony this is typical Micro$oft BS. For years they have been doing this ...something breaks in their software and it can take ages before they fix or like their Office Suite product (Excel, Word, Access etc.) they just don't bother and the next thing they do is just release a new version for you to buy.
I've been working with their software for years. Nothing new with this!!!
May have to move back to Google Chrome if this continues.
I've been able to install Chrome and it's working fine and not crashing like it used to and the "Save as Pdf" function
works very well.
Same problem here. Tried both "Save as PDF" and "Microsoft Print to PDF" and both generate a CRDOWNLOAD file that seems to download file, but never completes. I've used these same features many times before and never had a problem.

Update Edge and the issue is no longer present
Microsoft, can you resolve this as many people are affected and using 'Microsoft Print to PDF' does not create a Document Readable PDF (OCR). Else, we're probably forcing users to switch to Chrome/Firefox as downgrading of Edge is not a feasible solution without data loss.
This issue occurs on the following versions of Microsoft Edge
However, it is working normally again on Canary
Other alternative's we're considering to maintain Edge:
EDIT
We've decided to go with disabling 'Save as PDF' in Edge for the time being, while instructing staff to print using 'Microsoft Print to PDF' or an alternative PDF printer (i.e. CutePDF), or just ask them to rely on Chrome/Firefox.
Once the Edge application has an update that fixes 'Save as PDF' we will remove the PrinterTypeDenyList registry key from clients which will re-enable 'Save as PDF'
