I have a problem with printing from the latest version of Microsoft Edge. When I select some text on the browser and choose Print → 'Save As Pdf', the download starts but never finishes. How can I fix this? Is this a common issue for all the users of the latest version of Edge?

I have tried restating the PC, Resetting the browser, stopping all the extension etc. to fix it. but it doesn't work? Should I switch to Chrome?

Based on your response, you don't appear to be an IT expert from a government agency on the enterprise platform. If you were, you would know that Microsoft pushes updates constantly and updates are crucial for cybersecurity. I would prefer to hear from Microsoft, which was the reason for the post.

You are correct, I am not as I retired from that over 22 years ago. But if you want to hear from Microsoft I would suggest using this link, Contact Us - Microsoft Support as they usually do not reply to "Community Forums".

Re: print to pdf in Edge

The community has asked repeatedly for your company to fix the issue with print to pdf to no avail. As a member of an organization, I am prohibited from even attempting some of the fixes described in all the comments. Our organization receives frequent updates and yet the issue is not resolved. Just to let you know, my home computer, which does not subscribe to 365, has zero issues printing to pdf in Edge. Be advised that our IT department's solution is to avoid Edge and use Chrome. There are Edge features I like, especially collections. It appears that Microsoft does not wish to address the issues and therefore it appears that Microsoft is not concerned that entire organizations will onboard with Chrome. If your goal is to drive away users, it appears that you have succeeded.

Kelly GTS, Can you read? several have replied that this HAS BEEN FIXED.

As stated before, "Get your Admins to update your browser versions.", apparently you are blocked from doing so.

.... I don't understand how the forum administrators/regulators haven't considered this issue closed yet!

It only creates more confusion and more "straw text" for those who are less attentive!

Thank you. I can confirm that after updating to version 122.0.2210.77, the "Save as PDF" feature is functioning as expected.

Same issue here. Just started yesterday. VERY frustrating!

Then I found that Edge did download the file but renamed it to "Unconfirmed 123456.crdownload"

The 123456 being a changing and seemingly random set of numbers.

    So,

I changed that file name to "Unconfirmed 123456_crdownload.pdf" and opened that file with pdf reader and VOILA!

THERE WAS MY DOWNLOADED PDF FILE! And then with the magic of NOTEPAD, I renamed it to what I wanted w/pdf extension.

    Then

I wondered if there was a setting for pdf files and there is, sort of.

    A. In Edge upper right click on 3 horizontal dots (ellipsis?) and choose SETTINGS

    B. Choose COOKIES AND SITE PERMISSIONS

    C. Choose PDF DOCUMENTS (scroll way down to find)

    D. Two toggles there:

    1. Always download PDF files

"Download PDF files to your device. If Microsoft Edge is your default PDF reader, PDF files will open automatically without downloading." 2. PDF view settings

"Open PDFs to last viewed location when you reopen files"

    Be sure to re-start edge.

In my case, I still received "Unconfirmed..." files, but at least with finding and renaming them, I have my downloads, many of which were invoices/confirmations of paid bills.

Like all y'all, I have no idea why this behavior happened and why it just popped up.

After research, seems as though it's been happening since 2021ish.
