I have a problem with printing from the latest version of Microsoft Edge. When I select some text on the browser and choose Print → 'Save As Pdf', the download starts but never finishes. How can I fix this? Is this a common issue for all the users of the latest version of Edge?

I have tried restating the PC, Resetting the browser, stopping all the extension etc. to fix it. but it doesn't work? Should I switch to Chrome?

For the record, I've tried 4 versions of Edge (the standard release, Canary, Dev, and Beta). The Standard version fails with an Unconfirmed*****.crdownload file, as does the Edge Beta. The Edge Dev just sits with the spinning download icon. Using "Microsoft Print to PDF" does indeed work, however the file has some fonts that are incorrect. I'd suggest Microsoft figure out what's different between the Edge Standard/Dev/Beta which do not work and the Edge Canary which does work!!!!

    BTW, Chrome works!

I have the exact same problem that started today on Edge Version 120.0.2210.61. Last worked ok 3 days ago. Spent hours trying to find what was the problem before coming across this thread. Microsoft please fix asap.

I am having the same issue and "Microsoft print to PDF" as a workaround provides different results that dont quite work. It doesnt save the exact file name format I want to save e.g. It shortens "email 12.12.2023" to "email 12.12"

It seems to do with Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. If turned off (in Edge Settings -> Privacy, search, and services -> Security) , then at least you get a pdf file saved with original name. In File Explorer find download location, select downloaded file, make a copy by Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, then return to Edge and cancel not finished download.

I hope Microsoft will provide a prompt fix.
