Suddenly unable to use "collections" on Edge

Hello

That started suddenly

Activating the "collection" tab on Edge produce the following error in

"This content is blocked. Contact the site owner to fix the issue."

And on mobile (Edge for Android), "collection" buttons give that error:

"It's not you, it's us

Bing isn't available right now, but everything should be back to normal very soon."

This occurs only with my profile synced to my Microsoft account. Other profiles using other account work find on both devices

I would be Ok to completely erase my synced profile (but I don't know how to do that) but *not* my Microsoft account.

Thanks, R. DennisSteed and Smiler1958. I'll try that when I finish with my current Windows hair-tearing problem. My Win 11 machine can see and access the 2 Win 10 machines on my network, but they cannot access it, but can access each other---which means that it's a Win 11 problem. I am about to uninstall the last update that was a security update, because things were just fine earlier today! What's interesting is that the update does not appear in "Uninstall an update", but there is a restore point prior to it being installed.

Is there any way to completely turn off Windows updates? I'd like to turn them off, and then turn them on after some time has passed, and the bugs have been fixed.

They are copied to another place, then I rename the ones in the Collections folder, then copy the backup ones over. Finally reboot then open Edge and test.

Mine are in process of "updating" ... Hoping they all will be there!

We are updating your collections! Please keep Collections open until the update is finished.

Finished as I was typing. Several are still Synching though...
Looks like some of mine collection folders are empty :(

For the most part they all appear to be there.

Need to explore exporting this list. A few articles out there on how to do it supposedly,.

    Good luck to all!

The files seem to be straightforward SQLite databases. I'm going to explore the export capabilities in Edge. If not already baked in, I anticipate there will be some people writing utilities to export collections, favorites, etc. Definitely not going to embrace Microsoft as my password manager or money manager.

There are generic SQLite database viewers. I looked, and mine were definitely corrupted. Don't know if that was by Microsoft or my clumsy recovery attempts. But the good news is that whatever Microsoft did today restored everything from online. Kudos to their repair crew, and something else to their public relations people.
