Why are links in emails automatically opening in Edge, when all other browsers have been uninstalled/deleted. I haven't changed anything so what is going on?

Having changed nothing on PC settings, why all of a sudden, are links from Outlook emails automatically opening in Edge.

I have deleted all but Google Chrome (cant seem to delete Edge), which is my default browser so nothing should be opening in any other browser, including Edge.

I do NOT want to use Edge and seems like it is choosing to open without me allowing, which surely is an inappropriate use of Microsofts abilities..

Are you experiencing this while using your Outlook desktop app? Also, did this happen after an update? It might have been changed to Microsoft Edge instead of your default browser. To change this, go to File > Options > Advanced > File and browser preferences and select your preferred browser.

    File > Options > Advanced > File and browser preferences and select your preferred browser.

    Changed to Edge and it did not work. It did not open the link.

    Only choice was Microsoft Edge and Default Browser

    Hi this isn't working for me, I change the browser to default then click <<OK>> it says I've set the end date before the start date. I cant see these dates anywhere to change them. Anyone else had this issue and how did they resolve it?

    So I've updated to latest version, tried to make the changes and I still got the same error message despite logging off. Tried a couple of hours later and it worked - who knows whats going on.

    Well done Jen, this solves things exactly. Thank you. I did not know Outlook controlled the browser that attachments opened in and it is typical "Big Brother behaviou of Microsoft to make such a change in an update secretly without advising people. They will do anything it seems to try to wean people away from Chrome.
