Why are links in emails automatically opening in Edge, when all other browsers have been uninstalled/deleted. I haven't changed anything so what is going on?

Having changed nothing on PC settings, why all of a sudden, are links from Outlook emails automatically opening in Edge.

I have deleted all but Google Chrome (cant seem to delete Edge), which is my default browser so nothing should be opening in any other browser, including Edge.

I do NOT want to use Edge and seems like it is choosing to open without me allowing, which surely is an inappropriate use of Microsofts abilities..

I'm Jen. I'm an independent advisor and would happily help you figure this out.

Are you experiencing this while using your Outlook desktop app? Also, did this happen after an update? It might have been changed to Microsoft Edge instead of your default browser. To change this, go to File > Options > Advanced > File and browser preferences and select your preferred browser.

    Thank you! I had default selected everywhere else and even disable edge in the startup location and it was still opening links in edge until I read your answer. Thank you!!! This totally worked!

    Can someone tell me how to do that in https://outlook.office.com/ ?

    Hi Jen

    I have same problem of lemail links opeming in edge.

    My settings under aadvanced in outlook already show use default browser which is chrome, but when I try to close this screen I am told the end date entered occurs before start date. I have not entered any dates and cannot see where they are.

    Can you help Please?
