It seems ever since my laptop updated to Windows 11, I get this error for trying to access Costco or Lego.

Ugh this is happening to me on Costco,lowes, home depot and many other websites. I have even gone as far as to replace my router and modem. It has to be something to do with the internet service provider or all these websites at once are getting some kind of glitch because I can access it from my phone but not my home computer. So, that leads me to believe its the ISP. I have spectrum what does everyone else have.

I also have Spectrum and the same issue. I can access from my phone but not my PC. I bought a new PC in April running Windows 11 Version 23H2 and using Google Chrome as default browser, but receiving Access Denied errors from EDGESUITE.NET on Yelp, Target RedCard, PetSmart, Macy's and others. Spectrum Internet just upgraded to 500MB two weeks ago, and Google Chrome just updated a week ago, but Yelp started blocking since Chrome upgrade. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I spent at least half a day going through some of the easier suggestions from the posts. I could not access these sites from Edge or Chrome on my PC, but my iPhone had no problem. I did not change my IP address or buy a new router, but I reset the router/modem, cleaned the site data, reset permissions, cleared cookies, It still did not work after rebooting multiple times the day I did all those things. I left my PC on overnight and the next day, July 19, I had no problems accessing any sites through Chrome. I have no idea what I did to fix it, other than the global IT outage that Microsoft had to send an update to fix. This update fixed Microsoft Home and Student editions, which is what I have. I wonder what others have and if the problem is still happening.

This is NOT a Microsoft issue nor your or your ISP's issue!

If you go to https://whatismyipaddress.com/hostname-ip and paste into the textfield the domain name of the website that gives you problems (costco.com , lowes.com , tui.co.uk , ba.com, etc), and then click "LOOKUP IP ADDRESS" you will get the IP for that domain. Then if you click on that IP, you will get its details and you will see that it is hosted at *.akamaitechnologies.com ! A LOT of companies use Akamai's content delivery network (CDN) to serve their customers and control traffic.

This must be an Akamai problem. The error originates from their CDM network edgesuite.net. The only thing I don't understand is that some people claim that changing IP solves the problem, which is illogical to me. I would sooner say that it might be the web browser's fault, or something about the web browser that Akamai doesn't like. Akamai says they don't block anything and that it's their customer's (Costco, Home Depot, whatever else) issue since the customers (owners of websites) themselves control who/why/when has access to their sites.

But I don't know. In my case a Chromium-based browser (Maxthon) showed the error, but Chrome, Edge, Firefox didn't (they worked fine). And it was the same with any IP that I used. So it's something in the browser, some security setting maybe, or something else. Browsers have countless hidden advanced settings nowdays so who knows which one bothers Akamai's CDN network or their customer's configurations.

I noticed in the error message that the destination site URL contains the http protocol instead of https. Maybe that's the issue. Maybe a misconfiguration somewhere that certain browsers can't handle correctly. Who knows.

I did a reset of my seetings (settings>reset settings) and the problem disappeared. Look like soem issue with settings in recetn udpates.
