When I add text to a pdf in edge, suddenly it it adding a box around the text. It doesn't show up until I hit enter. It's super annoying and I'm sure I did something to turn it on but I can't figure out how to turn it off.

This worked for me.

I also use the built-in PDF viewer for work (due to it working with every font I've come across without issue) and the box around "add text" that started popping up a few days ago is extremely unwelcome. Not only is it unwanted, but it's also implemented very poorly - the box touches the letters making i's and l's hard to read and there's no formatting settings to change the color, thickness, or opacity. If we're going to be forced to have borders, at least make them function well...
Hi I have reset settings and the border persists. I cannot use another PDF reader as it is a work computer. Isn't there something in settings to remove this unwanted border???
Thanks
Sarah
Dear Laura g5
You can try to change the PDF Viewer, which can effectively solve the problem you are currently encountering.
Open edge.
Type edge://flags in the address bar and press Enter.
Search keyword 'New PDF Viewer'
Change Default to Enabled
