Full page McDonalds ads keep popping up when I open a page from the main Edge screen. how can I get this to stop. I've tried everything that has been suggested online. Still no dice.

Try to re-register the edge browser

Press “Windows Logo Key + X”, launch “Windows PowerShell (Administrator)” and enter the following two commands:

cmd /c “reg add HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\AppxAllUserStore /v ManifestCacheOptions /t REG_DWORD /d 1 ”



add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode c:\Windows\systemapps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AppxManifest.xml

Went to Settings and cleared all cookies, cleared all data storage from sites and also turned on block 3rd party cookies and yet this advertisement keeps popping up on Microsoft Edge. So, as far as I can tell it's only coming from this web browser (Microsoft Edge) and not linked to any visited websites.

Not a good look for Microsoft and Edge to have this advertising partnership on their site.

Wonder what is causing some Users to have or see this behaviour... Wonder how many are experiencing this...

Has anyone inquired with MS Tech Support about this?

Checked your previous advice and sent feedback on the 4-5 occasions it's happened the past two days. Also followed the link you provided previously to MS Support and just followed the instructions they recommended.

Next time though I'll go further and login to Support and see if that would help in narrowing down the issue.

Yes, one must, actually, sign in to Contact Support. There are 2 methods available... Chat OR leave your phone # for a callback request. Prefer the latter, as often Chat ends up going to the telephone, anyway. Once on the phone, use Quick Assist with the tech.

I can't say or offer more than I have, already, in this thread, as personally, I have no ads or pop-ups, at all with things set as I have for myself and recommended for others.

I just can't believe Microsoft allows this virus to still infect edge. Very disappointing!!
