Full page McDonalds ads keep popping up when I open a page from the main Edge screen. how can I get this to stop. I've tried everything that has been suggested online. Still no dice.

I have the same issue with Edge constantly getting this annoying McDonalds full page ad. I tried all the suggestions here and I found that it sometimes happens with Chrome as well...

Guess which browser that I have that does not have this problem. I even tried it on the Microsoft start page which is ate up with it.... Duck Duck Go... It will not appear in the DDG browser. I've tried to tempt it but it's a no McDonalds zone in Duck Duck Go.

Try it, DDG goes where you tell it and it doesn't allow tracking. You can build up cookies but then there is a button to burn every attempt at tracking you and it tells you who tried.

Hello Drew, Looks like you might think I criticized your help in response to the McHack that many people have responded to. I tried all the solutions mentioned, but it seems that like the (probable) AI responses from McDonalds, were BS. I finally just installed an extension I found online and it appeared to solve the problem. I don't like installing such extensions, but I was literally yelling at everyone in sight every time the thing popped up (usually 4 screens later). Thanks for sending me down the roads you knew about - I have stopped going to McDonald over this, and I tell everyone I know to avoid the place unless you leave all your devices wrapped in foil outside. Don't even drive through! Please let me know if you really want to know exactly which extension I allowed access, but I don't want to subject others to installing any extensions just in case I wind up swapping a cure for Mcdonalds full-screen pop-up with something worse. Mine has gone away now, and I am at peace - plus I find Burger King a better taste now anyway.

Shame on you, McDonalds. You should be strung up by your McNuggets...

Sent another message to McDonalds recently, due to another ill-timed popup leaving me steaming mad, and this is the reply received....

"Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald’s Customer Care.

If you're experiencing pop-up ads while using your browser, we recommend checking your browser settings to disable pop-ups and ads.

We hope to have the opportunity of serving you again soon under the Golden Arches."

To this, I emailed back my reply...."

My Popup blocker is on and has been on. About a month ago, Microsoft support was contacted and investigated, the determination was that it was generated from McDonalds to advertise on supporting web sites. There is even a thread dedicated to this very issue and a read through will clearly show nothing can be done from the end users to directly stop this problem.  Full page McDonalds ads keep popping up when I open a page from the - Microsoft CommunityEfforts have been tried for months now and as I stated previously in a message to McDonalds, the desired intent of drawing customers attention to the app may have the wrong effect and create an unfriendly image of the brand."

The only recommendation I can give to those reading this and looking for answers is to go to the McDonalds website, click on 'Contact Us' and click on the 'Feedback' tab and then fill in the requested information. They may not do anything if only one or two people report this issue, but dozens or hundreds report this, then it may draw the attention it needs to be addressed.

These same ads are certainly a problem in Chrome, as well as Edge. I've only begun noticing them recently, in Chrome on WIndows and Android.

These same possibly-malicious fullscreen McDonald's ads that keep appearing in Chrome, too, so this is not just an Edge problem. I don't even use Edge and came here because I was searching for a solution to this.
