MSN Weather E-tree level 10 now requires 50,000 points as compared to earlier of 10,000?

I noticed that my tree was not leveling up at the usual speed. Upon checking the "certificates" (shows the trees planted so far and the progress of the current one), I was astonished to find that goal was now 50000 points. My status: 6090/50000 Level 6 which otherwise would have been 6090/10000 Level 9.

I see no official communication from Microsoft about this. Although, the E-tree app on the Edge sidebar still behaves as earlier.

    I got my 46th tree after collecting 50,000 points yesterday.

    So for those still interested in this event, go ahead and collect more points.

    Besides, I also noted that the rank 1 person had planted 170 trees with 1691700 points.

    It seems that he/she is unaffected by the adjustment, which is frustrating.

    I am located in the US and I now have to post 50K to plant my next tree. Some in the US are not getting special treatment.

    i know, i just telling that i noticed this annoying update was not for everyone and some groups were allowed to keep the old 10k system to plant tree. Maybe the update is based on user account location with some countries being spared (US?, UK?) and other place like european union having to work 5x harder for a single tree.

    seems this update depend of the customer face (or rank).

    The top3 are not affected by this new change. i checked the ranking for the 3 last weeks and Yggdrasil, mike 38112, E-Tree DRR are always able to plant a new tree every 10k point like before when most of lower rank like us are forced with the 50000point ****.

    If it is really an update. i ask the top3 accounts being also updated with the 50k/tree. It is totally unfair if they have special treatment.

    The ranking is dependent on the points you have, not by the number of trees. If you check the list there are some with 40-50 trees with similar points to those with 80-90 trees.
