Edge version: Version 90.0.818.56 (Official build) (64-bit)

Many new Edge User installs have the option to pin download and history icons to the tool bar, but mine does not.

How do i get them to show up?

Another fix, other than deleting and recreating the account is if you happen to have another computer with the same account, do the following:

    1. on the affected pc, delete the folder located at %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge
    2. restart your computer, but don't open edge.
    3. go to the pc that is fine, and copy the same folder to a flash drive
    4. using the flash drive on the affected pc, replace the %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge folder
    5. launch edge and, set it back up.

    you're all set

Thanks for the reply. It is good to know deleting the account seems to work. I do use OneDrive for everything, so deleting wouldn't affect me really except for having to set up all the options and stuff. One thing I wouldn't be sure about is that my Microsoft account was the original setup account and the machine is registered to my MSFT account. Not sure if that would make a difference since the machine is now part of the org and controlled through there.

I actually created the "work" account and joined the domain after I created the standard accounts. I wasn't planning on using this machine for work at first but then changed my mind. It came with Home, so I upgraded it via the Windows Store to Pro and then joined with my business account.

    The order was:

    1. Set up brand new machine with my Microsoft Account. No local user creation.
    2. Added my daughter's Microsoft Account as a user.
    3. Thought twice about having her use my machine on the regular and decided to get her her own machine and use this for work.
    4. Purchased Windows 10 Pro license from Store and upgraded.
    5. Added "work" account and joined org domain.

Once Edge updated to 92.0.902.55, have the buttons in daughter's account and work account, but not my personal one.

I did find this: [Tip] How to Restore Classic Download Panel at Bottom in Microsoft Edge – AskVG which says how to go BACK to not having the download button at all (old bottom left Chrome-style). However, it assumes the button is already there, and involves adding a command line option to a shortcut to disable it. There isn't any instruction on how to reinstate the button/flyout except to leave the command out.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I have many users with the same complaint. The Downloads is in the taskbar on most systems but some systems it is in the status bar at the bottom of the window. The old way (Chrome). They like the new taskbar version of the download manager but it is not an option on these systems. This thread is a bit old so even with a controlled rollout, this should have gotten to everyone by now.

One article says to click on the elipsis (...) and then right click on Downloads but doing this on these systems goes straight to the Downloads page (edge://Downloads/All) rather than giving you a context menu. And as OP presented, the option is not there in the Appearance Settings. History option is not present either, but that is not a user complaint on my end.

Versions of Windows are all the same (21H1) and Edge is the same and up-to-date.

    No answer. The problem persists.

By any chance, were the ones that "work" created after the one that doesn't?

I noticed the same symptom. The account where Edge is not working appears to have existed during a certain update that locks it in.

Have you deleted that account on that computer and recreated it?

I got rid of the issue by deleting and recreating.

If you are all backed up in OneDrive and sync is on in Edge and other browsers, you should be able recreate with a little effort and time.

I am also interested in whether anyone was able to solve this. I have the same issue. I have three login profiles on this one machine, two show the button, one does not.

This machine is domain-joined. One of the working profiles is a "Work/School" account and the other working one is a standard Microsoft account. The third one, which doesn't work, is a standard Microsoft account.
