Edge is sharing Chrome site logins. How do I prevent this?

I personally think somebody somewhere dropped the ball here and made a mistake.

I tend to agree with you, if this is in fact happening by stealth as I understand.

It's possible, but this isn't the best way to make your views known. The official route for 'this is something I don't like' feedback is through the Microsoft Feedback Portal: Microsoft Edge · Community, although it's struggling to get off the ground. You have the ability to share your feedback item so other users can see it, upvote it and comment on it. However, it won't take off unless people actually use it.

Another good channel is Reddit. Edge community engagement staff monitor the two Edge subreddits and are usually pretty responsive: Microsoft Edge (reddit.com).

Otherwise, use the Send feedback option within the browser (Alt-Shift-i) to alert the Edge team to your feelings. This is all read and may be acted upon if enough users make the same complaint.

It's really easy to keep Dr Jekyll's stuff quite separate from Mr Hyde's by giving each of them his own browser profile. Each profile has its own data store, with history, cookies, favourites, passwords and so on completely divorced from every other profile's. This is how I switch with one click between different email accounts at the same webmail site, for example.

The vast majority of people will always take the obvious approach. The obvious approach is running two browsers. I had to look up what browser profiles are, and while it looks interesting, I’m still very happy with my two browser solution. One of those browser is now Chrome and the other os Firefox, since they respect my desire for separation.

I wonder what proportion of users solve the problem using browser profiles and what proportion run two browsers? I bet less than 1% use the profiles. As I said, I’d never even heard of them. It’s a power user feature really.

This is a dangerous, and irresponsible change since it disregards privacy. And what do you say to the doctor who ends up in the situation above? I don’t think “you should have used browser profiles” is an answer that’d go down too well…

But I get the feeling it’s not an intentional change to the default, so I sincerely hope this gets the attention it needs. I will raise on Reddit.

You know what the crux of the problem is? I do; it's the intrusive policies of Microsoft. Why is this feature even turned on by default. Edge is literally pulling information from an account that isn't registered as a profile on ANYTHING with a Microsoft label. It's pulling information from a private Google account in which I have to provide administrative credentials to personally view the passwords saved there and here is Edge just pulling it out of thin air and transmitting login information on a browser I never gave permission to send. Its like Edge is acting like a keylogger. How many other websites are you transmitting my data to without my permission?

This is a very big hack of privacy,
It seems that the two giants Google & Microsoft are in the process of joining to one brand!!
many things are indicating this.
But they are actually hacking our privacy with no permission from us,
They are sharing private information between Edge & Chrome
this is really very dangerous.
