Hello,
I have a site where I have two accounts. I used to be able to have one of them logged in with Edge and one with Chrome, then by running the right browser, I could be logged in with the right profile.
Now, Edge seems to have started copying the login across from Chrome, i.e. I can't separate them. Logging in on Chrome logs in with the same credentials on Edge which isn't what I want.
How do I turn this off so that each browser can log in with different credentials and stay logged in with those credentials? I've found lots of stuff about syncing my MS account across devices, but this is on one single device and two browsers that I want to be completely unrelated.

i think i may have found the problem and solution
edge://settings/profiles/importBrowsingData/importOnLaunch
enter that in the edge address bar and turn it off
I realize this is from back in March, my apologies if there's a rule against posting in an old topic. Also, I apologize if my idea is way off base, I'm pretty rusty (20 years since I did tech support or software troubleshooting. Looking at computer parts recently to build a gaming rig has been... enlightening). I sincerely hope everyone has found a solution already. However, if that is not the case and people still need help to fix this, I came across something within MS Edge that may help.
I wound up on this page for a completely different reason than most others. I'm going through the MS Edge Experimental Features list, turning some on and others off. I am currently at "Allow all sites to initiate mirroring". I wanted more info on the mirroring and if it really meant absolutely any website. I ended up here and read through the issue and responses as far as this response by Firedog. I was thinking that it's possible this function is allowing the website to reach out on it's own, especially if AJP_850 has mirrored that site before. He wouldn't have had to mirror it to the other browser and how he mirrored it would possibly be a clue to stopping this as well.

This is a very simple problem to replicate. I have a very simple website that sets Session variables (i.e. User Full Name, User Birth date, etc.) when a user logs in, Before I could log into the same web app being two different users at the same time. To do this, you had to use a different browser (i.e. Edge and Chrome). However, since Edge Chromium (i believe) the defaults are to share Session state between browsers, and that results in the problem describe earlier (if I log in as Jack in the Chrome Browser, and then log in as Jill in the Edge browser, when I return to Chrome I now am Jill in Chrome as well).
What appears to have solved it for me was turning off "Import browser data on each launch" in the edge://settings/profiles section.
