Edge is sharing Chrome site logins. How do I prevent this?

Hello,

I have a site where I have two accounts. I used to be able to have one of them logged in with Edge and one with Chrome, then by running the right browser, I could be logged in with the right profile.

Now, Edge seems to have started copying the login across from Chrome, i.e. I can't separate them. Logging in on Chrome logs in with the same credentials on Edge which isn't what I want.

How do I turn this off so that each browser can log in with different credentials and stay logged in with those credentials? I've found lots of stuff about syncing my MS account across devices, but this is on one single device and two browsers that I want to be completely unrelated.

    I have the same issue. I'm logged into different Twitter accounts on each browser: Firefox for personal ones, Chrome for a few business ones and Edge for other business ones. As of two weeks or so, Edge copies the exact settings from Chrome after each sessions.

    Specifically: I restart the computer, open edge, and it will be logged into the 3 accounts I'm logged into on Chrome. Before I shut down the PC, I was logged into two different accounts on Edge. Now I have to log out of those and log into the other accounts each time and it's rather annoying. I'd prefer to have the two browsers share no info between them at all...

    go to >Edge Browser Settings> Profiles/ Import browser data

    Turn off all

    Import from other browsers

    Import browser data now

    Import browser data on each launch

    This worked for me.

    Yep, looks like it's a new setting in Edge. 'Imprt Frome chrome on Startup'.

    Possibly useful for some people but what a ridiculous approach to automatically enable it on update.

    Like many people I use different browsers for work/personal. This could really mess up some people getting signed in to everything as completely the wrong account.

    Bad bad Microsoft. Please fix it and apologise.
