Hello,
I have a site where I have two accounts. I used to be able to have one of them logged in with Edge and one with Chrome, then by running the right browser, I could be logged in with the right profile.
Now, Edge seems to have started copying the login across from Chrome, i.e. I can't separate them. Logging in on Chrome logs in with the same credentials on Edge which isn't what I want.
How do I turn this off so that each browser can log in with different credentials and stay logged in with those credentials? I've found lots of stuff about syncing my MS account across devices, but this is on one single device and two browsers that I want to be completely unrelated.

If you disabled this feature and this is what you see then sync should stop right then and there. Just restart the browser that's it.
Thank you for your reply. I have done this. Nevertheless I did not authorize this change and received no prompt. Its is a serious security issue. As I do not want data from one browser with personal facebook twitter... being imported without my consent to a business browser. It is not only unprofessional it now means I have to do housework. Before you responded I simply reset edge )and it seems to have fixed the start page issue) but I still have the bookmarks bar there and so on I do not want on edge. I mean lets say you are a Doctor and suddenly your browser on the clinic screen has bookmarks to adult content? Or a lawyer whos screen has Memes for cats? I do not think the Edge team have really thought about how serious this is (or could be legally!).
Microsoft when it installs windows and major updates takes you through the I dont want this that and the or the other yet completely ignores it when it updated edge last time. I personally think somebody somewhere dropped the ball here and made a mistake. As this is clearly a code mistake where it should not have done this. Now people gotta patch up the mess.
I hope the edge team read this or are passed these messages. I used to be a windows insider on 10. And this is exactly the thing that would be reported in Beta. But this is not Beta! In future do not do the syncing with other browsers by default or without consent. I know edge wants more browser maket share and hates it when people immediately install Chrome but this is in part why they do this! It is underhanded and dangerous to try and rob other browsers of their data even if it is on the same system! And as such put people off the edge browser rather than trust it.
This is by far the worst change I have ever seen in a modern browser.
Have you turned off the option to import browser data at each launch at ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings > Profiles > Import browsing data?

This is a very big hack of privacy,
It seems that the two giants Google & Microsoft are in the process of joining to one brand!!
many things are indicating this.
But they are actually hacking our privacy with no permission from us,
They are sharing private information between Edge & Chrome
this is really very dangerous.
