Netflix error on Edge Chromium

I am discouraged that this problem has not been fixed after several months. I am a long-time a Netflix subscriber. Since I upgraded a few months ago to the new Edge Chromium browser, Netflix always returns error code D7353-5101. Refreshing the browser screen always allows Netflix to play normally. Even so, it is a damned nuisance. Netflix support says that Netflix does not support the Edge chromium browser, and  recommends using Google Chrome or Firefox browsers. It would seem to me that not supporting a widely used service such as Netflix would be a very big negative that Microsoft would want to fix. Yet... months go by and no fix.

Before anyone asks, I do not use third party AV. Windows has been updated since the problem appeared, and is up-to-date.

Update - the 5C release is KB5003214. This has an additional fix for the signing issue that caused the symptom investigated here.

Thanks

    Installed are:

    Windows 10 Pro version 20H2 build 19042.746

    Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

Edge Version 88.0.705.50 (official build) (32-bit)

I have all the latest Windows updates

The error message disappears and Netflix plays only after the screen is refreshed, but in order to refresh, the full screen must first be escaped (esc key). It is a real pain to do this every time a new episode starts, and the error message reappears. Therefore, for the past three months, approximately, I always have always used Firefox version 84 to watch Netflix.

Hi, sorry to hear about this issue. Can you please share the Windows version number (Start -> winver) as well as Edge version number (from edge://version) where you're currently experiencing this symptom?

Confirm that you have the latest Windows updates?

Are you also seeing the symptom go away on browser refresh?

    Thanks

    Arvind

I don't want to install another program. Netflix works just fine on Firefox. I can't believe that  Microsoft doesn't care about customers leaving Edge to watch Netflix on another browser.

    Man, forget the browser.

Netflix's windows desktop application will give you more features and easier to navigate through it.

Instead of using the netflix website, just download the netflix app for windows from here :

Get Netflix - Microsoft Store en-IN

After using this you'll never go back to the site again
