Microsoft has always had a poor reputation for long term support of their less popular formats, and RT is just such an example.
The latest versions of surface including the ARM based surface pro x suffers from these failures already with no support or emulator for 64bit which was promised months back but is still not available.
So i think that expecting any kind of support for our RT devices is at best unlikely to be forthcoming.
We all purchase these devices and expect support but if its from Microsoft dont hold your breath.
RT is yet another failed Microsoft venture and im sure there will be many more as long as we support them by buying these products and allowing them to profit from their failures
Sadly, Microsoft Edge will not run on Windows RT, and as far as I am aware there are no plans to make this possible. Support for the operating system ended more than three years ago.
Very much agree.paid so much money to buy this surface RT and now microsoft not providing any alternative for internet explorer which has become incompatible with many websites
Well, it's been 9 months, and no good news for us RT users. I find my ASUS a very convenient tool, though not my primary computer. I can only share everyone's disappointment, but I'm not surprised. When has Microsoft ever had any loyalty to its users?
Hi MehmetBaserdem,
The new Microsoft Edge (Chromium based) is NOT compatible for Windows RT 8.1 because it is installed independently by downloading it from a web browser (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge) and not from the Microsoft Store App.
As soon as an RT version becomes available to download from the Microsoft Store App, that is the only time you can download it to an RT 8.1 device but as of now, there is no news about that.
Sincerely,
Lee
I think microsoft still need to learn to be humanitarian than focusing on several selfish ambitions.
