how to stop edge from being managed by an organization

If I check policies with no value there are many pages...

I don't believe I'm infected...

hello. my browser is being managed by an organization. in the edge policy it says Extensioninstallforcelist. i have tried everything i could and nothing worked. i cant change it and i dont know anything about electronics and i dont want to mess up my computer. please help! thank you

See if this clears things for you.

• Type powershell into search and launch Windows Powershell as administrator.
• Copy and paste in all the bold text below (both lines at once) into Powershell then press enter :

reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\ExtensionInstallForcelist /f;reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\ExtensionInstallForcelist /f;

• In Edge, enter edge://policy/ into the URL bar and press enter.
• Click on 'Reload Policies'

If ExtensionInstallForcelist is still present then you likely have malware.

In that case, please upload and share logs from Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST).

• If your computer language is not English, rename FRST64.exe to FRST64English.exe
• Run FRST and press "Scan"
• Two logs are created in the folder that FRST is run from, FRST.txt and Addition.txt
• Upload the logs to OneDrive, Google Drive or any file sharing service
• Post the share link

Note: If you are downloading FRST with Edge, smartscreen will initially block it.

Click on the 3 dots next to the warning and select Keep-> Show more-> Keep anyway.

Type powershell into search, then right click on Windows Powershell and "Run as administrator"

Copy/paste in the following command -> press enter:

reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge /f;reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge /f;

Ignore any error thrown as both keys likely don't exist.

Click "Reload Policies" on the edge://policy page.

hey so i stumbled across this thread in my google hunt for answers!! i do believe i got infected if you will, im not quite sure how but i see that you were able to fix his issue so im hoping you can possibly help me as well?!?! lol i noticed this weird extension on my toolbar and when i hover it says managed by organization so then i got to checkin things out and found this stuff and i have reset everything to default and its still there!! its the little grey square right above where it says fun stuff its usually blue though. Either way thanks for your time!
