I installed the new Secure Edge browser. Big mistake. How can I go back to the old one?

Its not better. If so many people are taking it out then its an issue.

    1. There is no way to block ads from playing as you could do in Legacy edge. Only thing u can do is set a flag and it stops the audio, the ad still plays. The quote from MS is in the future they MAY consider adding this in. Really!! I guess MS gets revenue from the ad makers
    2. Downloads. U used to be able to select Save or Save As etc. Now it just downloads to the default directory there doesn't seem to be a way to change the directory each time u download. Not a user friendly thing.
    3. Favorites Folder.  U scroll down through it to find your link. But when u go back to it u have to start all over from the top. It doesn't remember where u were before another pain. Especially if u have a lot of favorites.
    4. Open Tabs. If u shut down Windows without closing Edge it will start the next time with the tabs u left open. However now every so often (random) when u start Edge all the tabs are gone. They are left open for a reason. Such a pain
    5. It seems you sent the new Edge out as an update to Edge. Well per the letter of grammatics its correct it appears it was done to force people to the new Edge. I suspect that the download of the new Edge compared to the total installed base was so low they decided to do it that way. Normally stuff like this goes as a major update, which then shows up in a separate section in the updates. Or at least the Subject Line or description would have said 'New Chromium Based Edge'. Which of course most people would then ignore it. Shame on MS but I guess they figure they cant afford to have the people continue to support the Legacy version when they can use the base of a Free version to help them with their R&D.

So this is just a subset of things wrong with the new one. And the biggest joke of all is to send comments/recommendations in the help and feedback area. But if we aren't using the new Edge cause its bad not easy to send it back to MS. So feel free to send all of these back for us. I have actually considered installing Firefox which I don't like but have resisted. I have even resorted to using the old IE which is better than the new Edge.

I guess when you have a monopoly you figure you can do what every you want. But then the EU figures you cant, thus the law suits.

The Revo Uninstaller worked perfectly. I still have my favorites and the web based program I need to use is now working like it should. Now if there is a way to allow me to spell check words in all caps I'd be really happy. I can do this in e-mail but not in web based programs in Edge.

Funny, but I don't have any of the issues you have, in fact, I am way more satisfied with New Edge than I ever was with Edge Legacy.

I hope this helps and if you need any further assistance please post and we will be glad to assist you.

As for your spell checker, try the extension Grammarly.

Have you checked your favorites list? You can no longer keep it open to work--it closes as soon as you click on something, then returns to the top when you open it again. And you can't scroll down--it only auto-scrolls.
