I installed the new Secure Edge browser. Big mistake. How can I go back to the old one?

Maybe if Edge is the default browser it won't let you uninstall it?

Thanks for contacting. With latest version of Windows 10, the company start disabling Edge legacy (Classic Edge browser) with new Chromium based Edge browser. It means if you search for old, browser, the new Chromium browser will open.

What you can do is use both Classic Edge and New Edge side by side. For that, you need to:

    1. Uninstall Chromium browser first
    2. Launch Registry Editor
    3. Visit - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate

On the right side create 32-bit dword value and name it 'Allowsxs'

Double-click and set its value data to 1.

Reboot your computer and download Chromium based Edge browser.

Doing this you will be able to use both old and new edge browser.

Will someone please explain to me why I have to do this garbage to change back?

    1. Uninstall Chromium browser first
    2. Launch Registry Editor
    3. Visit - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate

On the right side create 32-bit dword value and name it 'Allowsxs'

Double-click and set its value data to 1.

If I wanted Chromium as a browser I would have done it myself.

Do software people make changes just to do so or it to make life miserable for the consumer.

I thought it was showing the new changes and going to give me the option. Nope. STUPID!!! Should have purchased a MacBook.
