The uninstall option is grayed out.

I do not like these updates to my system....I was happy with Windows 10 until the updates.  Now I am thinking of switching to the APPLE system entirely.

I found that the New "Microsoft Edge" had some undesirable features and didn't provide several options available in the "Legacy" program.

Removing the new version had presented the same obstacles as everyone else seems to be experiencing.

I was able to uninstall the new version of Microsoft edge

    by following these steps

    1} Open "File Explorer"

    2} Click on "File"

    3}Scroll Down to "Desktop"

    4}Click on "This PC"

    5}Click on "OS (C)

6}Scroll down to "PROGRAM FILES (x86)

SPECIAL NOTE: There are 2 "Program Files Options to select. Only the "Program Files (x86) folder seems to offer the "Delete Option " for Microsoft edge.

7}Click on "PROGRAM FILES (x86) and scroll down "Microsoft"

8} Click on "Microsoft" and several "Edge" data lines appear.

9}Delete all "Microsoft Edge" entries and the "New Microsoft Edge" program will be removed from your computer.

Finally I'm about to embark on the task of restoring the "legacy" version of edge to my computer. I'm of the impression that it may not be an easy task. Stay Tuned.

Just remember, willy nilly editing of the registry can cause problems down the road. Remember that when your computer starts to not function correctly.
