How to Uninstall/Reinstall Edge

I have a problem Uninstaller with microsoft Edge it will not be removed and re-installed what I am I to do as of now I haven't got a browser it's a windows 11pro for quite a while now I have tried to fix it I was to uninstall EDGE then reinstall EDGE but I am unable to uninstall my copy of it so I have no Edge so no browser what is most important option. The problem started with my first EDGE disappeared after my last update from the Microsoft updates so what can be done THIS IS MICROSOFT 11pro as of now it's just a paper wait with no purpose it is only 6months ******@aol.com. Willam Ian Gray.

I've learned a few things since I first posted this question. The one thing I've learned that really matters here is that Windows 11 requires Edge as it uses it as the base for its GUI. Because of this, Windows won't function if Edge is not installed. So, if you want to remove Edge, just remove Windows 11. Also, that's why you (and the rest of us) get an error when we try to use the Command prompt or Power Shell to make changes to it or remove it.

Like the rest of us, you're just going to have to learn to ignore it until Microsoft actually makes it worth using. Yeah, the content they put on their pages, etc absolutely sucks.

If I were you, I'd run the System File Checker with the /scannow option to see if it will fix the Edge installation for you. If you can, go check this post out for instructions on how to fix it from a Powershell command prompt:

From my guru tech -

Did everything up to the PowerShell part, that errored out for me

So, I had to search for setup.exe (it was in a Microsoft WoW directory) and copy it to the 'Application' directory.

Then I deleted all folders within the Program File (x86)/Microsoft/Edge directory (including the Edge directory).

Then I went to Apps and Features and ran a repair on Edge. It had to download it clean and it worked!

UPDATE 11/22/2024 - Microsoft looks like they fixed their problem with Edge version *.63 being installed today.
