How to Uninstall/Reinstall Edge

Edge keeps crashing in Windows 11. I have already tried quite a few troubleshooting steps suggested here and it's still not fixed. The last suggestion I received before reinstalling Windows is to reinstall Edge. (Not repair/reinstall from the Add/Remove Programs menu, I've already tried that). I did this but it doesn't look like it worked. When I opened Edge after the reinstall all my tabs re-opened and I just don't think the reinstall worked correctly. Is there a way to uninstall Edge completely and then reinstall it? The option is grayed out in the Remove programs menu.

    It says I can uninstall Microsoft edge in PowerShell and it doesn't do anything and I've tried it with the registry editor to uninstall it and when I go to the control panel to uninstall it its not even there and it is still on my desktop and I don't know what to do.

    As for the Registry directory, you can copy and paste from this website:

    Summary for the steps that needs to be taken:

    1. Delete all the registry related to Microsoft Edge.
    2. End task for Microsoft Edge. (If Step 3 failed, then this might be due to some process running in the background. You will need to disable 'Widget' in Background Process that is running by Edge).
    3. Delete all Microsoft Edge folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft
    4. Delete all Edge shortcuts for good measure.

    Hope this helps.

    P/S : Microsoft Edge might get reinstalled when you update your Windows.

    Ooooo, Microsoft got in trouble for this years ago. Aren't they lucky that the U.S. government isn't paying attention to MS forcing browsers down our throats like this anymore. Aren't they lucky that most users are too young to remember when that happened and fought back. I hate that product, and it pops up when my default browser ISN'T that thing! Need another class-action lawsuit to stop you from boldly executing anti-trust violations by other browser companies? Oh, I forgot. When they hate the competition, they just buy them like every other monopoly does in this country. Or pay the government to look the other way. If there was competition to Microsoft, I'd be the first on that bandwagon, but they've got the world locked up tight. I consistently see the fight between Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Mozilla, Safari and anybody else who will buy into these global browser politics. I'll throw in VPN's too. Microsoft is putting users in the middle and it's unfair. We should be able to choose on this operating system.

    Sure,

    First, thank you for the help, Hahn. Second, I didn't realize just how bad Edge was but it's some of the worst malware I've ever seen. It keeps screwing with my browser settings as well as trying to insert itself into being the default browser, etc. I didn't f'ing pay $200 for a copy of Windows 11 Pro just so I could be abused like this. I want Microsoft to pay me for damages. Actually, I want Microsoft to pay everyone damages, especially those of us who actually had to pay for our copy of Windows.
