Ever since the new chromium the scroll feature is way too fast, uncontrollable.I have a Lenovo Y700 with the ELAN pointing device, and i have installed the latest driver from lenovo. This wasn't like this on EDGE and all other browsers work fine.Scrolling in windows is good just this browser.I have tried all settings in the touchpad control and they have no effect on scrolling.any fix for this?

I had the same problem ONLY with the latest Edge.  MS Surface Pro, Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Mouse.  Fixed it by turning OFF smooth scrolling in Logitech Options.

I have an Ideapad 330 with ELAN touchpad drivers. Faced exactly the same problems. Fast scrolling only in edge chromium. Browser is up to date, so are the touchpad drivers. Vertical mouse scrolling is 3 lines at a time. Other browsers like chrome and opera aren't affected.

Finally, found an 4 year old reddit post with a fix. This solved my issue.

    Hope it helps :)

    Here's a verification of https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/profile/d12ed8db-b7db-46ed-967b-84f29304571c fix:

Create new system image called "Before Elan Modification".

    Open Regedit.

    Search for Elan.

Change ScrollControl_Mode (or similar depending on version) from 0 to 1.

    Reboot.

Note: Did not fix the everlasting MS Photos vertical scrolling problem.

Changing the ScrollControl Mode from 0 to 1 fixed my new Edge "super fast scrolling problem" on my Lenovo Ideapa 305 using ELAN mouse driver.   Only the new Edge had this problem on my laptop....Chrome and all other software scrolled smoothly before and after I made the mode change.   I was using the latest mouse driver and even reinstalled the latest driver but it didn't help even trying all the various scroll settings....setting them to the slowest setting.   However, after changing the ScrollControlMode to 1 the new Edge scrolling is usable still not nearly as smooth as Chrome.  The new Edge still needs works in in scrolling speed/smoothest for some computers/mouse drivers....like various Lenovo models mentioned in this thread.

Edge 85.0.564.18 (Beta), HP Workstation with Logitech MX Vertical mouse, Logitech K830 keyboard.

Both the mouse wheel and keyboard touchpad show same exuberant scrolling behaviour.

Disabling the "Microsoft Edge scrolling personality" returned both devices to normal scrolling behaviour for me.

    1. In the Edge address bar enter edge://flags (or edge:flags/#edge-experimental-scrolling then go to step 3.)
    2. Search for "scrolling"
    3. Find "Microsoft Edge scrolling personality" and set to Disabled
    4. Restart Edge
