Hi
My laptop just updated to Edge and its running very slow. It takes over 10 minutes just to load one page.
It has also stopped internet explorer working and getting error message ‘Cannot reach this page’.
i even tried to download Chrome but its not allowing that either.
Any ideas how i can fix this? This is a new laptop and now cant use it!

This thread is almost two years old, and whatever the situation may have been when it was started, that has changed a great deal in the interim. The thread is now locked.
If you have a problem with Edge's performance, please use the Ask a question option at the top of any page at this site to start your own thread about it. The more precise details you give of the problem, the more likely it is that someone will be able to help. These include the build of Windows you're using (right-click start, select Run and type winver to see), the version of Edge (click ⋯ [Settings and more] > Settings > About Microsoft Edge to see), what third-party security or anti-malware software is running on the computer and what extensions are installed in Edge. Please explain precisely what you are doing when the problem arises.
I had the same issue and tested the fixes listed here.
What worked for me was going to Task Manager and closing all Edge tasks.
I did the same thing with Chrome and now they're working great.
I have been battling this since last summer and I just figured out the fix for me. Disabling vertical tabs and now Edge runs normally. Edge would be unusable with vertical tabs enabled even with just one tab open. wth

There must have been something wrong with the update, just received another and everything back to normal.
